The Female-led Podcasts our Headphones are Loving

A special shout out to the women speaking magic into our ears, and hearts, each and every day

Here at Monde, our female team members are reflecting on International Women’s Day by taking a moment to love on our favourite female-led podcasts. From the ones that make us laugh and cry, to the ones that educate us, there is so much a good podcast can do for your overall wellbeing. Also, we strongly believe sharing is caring, so get your headphones ready, open whatever platform you use to listen to your podcasts, and reflect on the amazing women enriching lives around the globe.

My go-to female-led podcast is hosted by none other than the profound Casandra Brené Brown. Brown is an American professor, lecturer, author, and podcast host of my personal favourite, ‘Unlocking Us by Brené Brown’.

Brown unpacks some very deep and philosophical ideas and has many challenging conversations with a guest or two throughout each episode. It is these conversations that unlock the deeply human part of who we are, so that we can live, love, parent, and lead with more courage and heart.

My standout episodes are ones where Brown chats to other parents, about parenting. I find this series in particular very insightful and it would be relevant to any parents, no matter their age or the ages of their children.

When it comes to the podcasts I love to devour week on week, I’m a sucker for a pop-culture moment. All my top listened series are women I think are funny and clever, chatting about the smut I love to unwind in when I’m not working i.e., reality television, celebrity gossip, social media trends etc.

My all-time favourite weekly podcast is titled ‘Giggly Squad’ and features two New Yorkers in their early 30s, who both made their big breaks on Bravo show ‘Summer House’. Hannah Berner and Paige Desorbo are (in my opinion) the ultimate duo who bring the giggles as well as delivering the present zeitgeist to me in a way I so dearly enjoy.

My favourite episode of late is titled ‘Giggling about our astrological chats…’ I remember listening to this in the car and audibly cackling multiple times. If you’re looking to laugh, give Giggle Squad a go!

My all-time favourite female-led podcast at the moment is ‘The Wellness Café’. It features Trinity Tondeleir (who you may know from Youtube, Instagram and Tik Tok) And has weekly episodes based on wellness, lifestyle, and girl talk.

I love this podcast because it feels like you’re chatting with your best friend and getting a much-needed boost of energy. Each of her podcast episodes leaves you feeling energized and with something like what wellness products to use, workout habits or how to journal correctly. It’s the perfect podcast for girls looking to work on their self-care and looking for a feel-good podcast. It gives helpful tips to make sure you feel amazing.

My favourite episode to date is episode 67: ‘A guide to entering your comeback era’. This episode is centred on connecting with your higher self, and I always listen to it when I need a bit of a lift in a low-energy week! This episode gives tips on how to be your best self, lift yourself up with self-care practices and features Trinity talking about her experiences.

A female-led podcast I often return to is Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne’s ‘Life Uncut’. While it started as a podcast to cover all things friendship, relationships and dating, its popularity has seen it only continue to grow and broach a multitude of topics.

While it’s a podcast that will have you in stitches as you listen to the funny mishaps of the raw and honest hosts, it also doesn’t shy away from confronting difficult situations that life presents. Each of the episodes feels like a great chat with friends, that leaves you feeling rejuvenated and empowered, and serves as a reminder to look after yourself.

Two I found great when first tuning in were the episodes titled ‘Imposter Syndrome – Fake it till you make it’ and ‘Talking Diet Culture and Nutrition with Sheri Health’. These brief discussions serve as a casual reminder to take it easy on yourself, back yourself and put your mental and physical health first.
