Luxe to Less: The Return of the Wedge
A summer staple and practical option for days near the sand and soil, here’s why the wedge is making a compelling case as the shoe of the season.
The wedge makes it's comeback every few years, but we're especially excited by this silhouette in 2023. Why? because the present day brands we can't get enough of, ahem Amina Muaddi, have made it their own.

One of the reason’s we’re absolutely sure that the wedge is one of the most relevant shoe silhouettes this season, is that the hottest high-end brands of the moment all have all jumped on board.
It’s no new news that Paris-based label Amina Muaddi has become high on the wish lists of many footwear appreciators worldwide over the past few years. Thanks to creating an iconic and recognisable feature synonymous to her brand, the martini heel, Muaddi’s curation of footwear and accessories has fast become cult-status, and beyond exquisite to look at. Muaddi has this season offered a variety of wedged sandals and boots, in glittery hues, PVC and buttery suede. Such a generous offering of this silhouette chez Muaddi, cements this style as the ‘it’ shoe, 10 times over.
If you’re after something a little more contemporary, Swedish brand Acne Studios have this season put their stamp on the wedge. This acid-green suede sandal is complete with all the brand’s grungy bells and whistles, AKA studs and extra-ness.
For those who prefer the glimmer of glamour, these Gold Patent Leather Wedges by Jimmy Choo are sure to make your heart sparkle. Featuring a thin wedged heel, paired with pointy accents and the opportunity to show off some toe cleavage, they’re the sexy option that would be perfect to accompany you on a night on the town.
