Trans-Seasonal Knitwear for September Weather

Too warm for a jacket yet a bit nippy not to don something over your tee? Here's to trans-seasonal knitwear, the wardrobe staple necessary for taking our wardrobes from one season to the next.

In a swoop of serendipity, twice a year certain metropolitan areas of both the northern and southern hemispheres of our planet are almost aligned when it comes to the weather. Metropolises such as New York and London are starting to feel fall weather whilst the temperature is still balmy, and for us here in the southern parts of Australia, we’re slowly saying goodbye to our winter warmers and hello to baring our arms and legs again.

Whilst weather patterns are just as unpredictable as ever, something we think will be synonymous to this time of year and align many of us around the world, is the fact that coats are pretty much not necessary. Instead, you can probably get away with just a knit to ward off any evening chill that your city throws at you. So, in the spirit of the season’s change, we’ve curated the ultimate edit of trans-seasonal knitwear, that will support you in September, and well into the new year.

When it comes to knitwear, I personally prefer opting for a pop of colour, especially when I’m situated in an area that celebrates spring in September. Some new season highlights that fit my brief are this bloom-studded grey and colourful number from Acne Studios.

Similarly, I’m a big fan of cardigans this time of year, as they offer a versatility that jumpers really cant. Wear them open, then button them up when the sun goes down, it’s a perfect lesson in getting the most out of your garments. Some stand out cardis I’m obsessing over this season have got to be the Khaite New York Scarlet Flared Sleeve number for coziness and this staple Comme des Garcons PLAY in a versatile colourway.
