The New Celine: Homme Collection
Inspired by the creativity of today's internet youth. Celine's new Homme collection is filled with bold patterns and colours that pay homage to an array of eternal subcultures including grunge, scene-kids, e-boys and skaters.
Called ‘The Dancing Kid’ a phrase meant to evoke the masses of teens dancing on TikTok cultivating their own unique styles, the collection features nature motifs including animal prints and palm trees to classic patterns like tie-dye and plaid. Truly a love letter to the cool youth cultures of past and current generations.
Many pieces will be perfect for layering in the coming winter months. With essentials spanning from windbreakers, cardigans to sweatshirts. With vibrant solid colours that will take you into spring.
Heidi Silmane’s collection has it all from epic hats to killer shoes. All the essentials you need for your take on the popular e-boy trend, or if you are feeling a bit more adventurous, the preppy, dad or stoner look.
Celine was created in 1945 by Céline Vipiana. Current designer Heidi Slimane took over the brand in 2018 as creative director.
‘The Dancing Kid’ establishes Slimane’s romanticisation of the underground cool-teen while playing with an energetic-edge and high-end quality and fit.
His creative direction turned Celine’s traditional style to something “driven by youth culture, indie rock and sulking adolescence.”
Not only does this collection evoke the cool e-boy aesthetic but it also refers to the budding individualism that is encapsulating this generation’s youth and internet personality.
