Pat McGrath – British Royalty of Glitter & Makeup Magic
Diving head first into a fistful of glitter; here's the brand behind that ICONIC #MaisonMargiela Artisanal SS24 Glass Skin you've seen beauty creators trying to recreate on TikTok. This is Pat McGrath Labs.
Hailing from Northampton, England, Dame Patricia Ann McGrath, first graced the earth in 1970’s, to a dressmaker mother with Jamaican ancestry. Many today credit her mother’s profession to McGrath’s innate connection to and affinity with the fashion world.
McGrath gained her first foray into the fashion scene thanks to connections with London’s designer elite such as Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, and soon earned beauty gigs at magazines. Although no formal training in makeup artistry, Pat was asked to join the Giorgio Armani beauty team back in 1999, aiding the iconic brand to formulate their cosmetics, and well, the rest is history.
Now, often referred to by the most regarded fashion and beauty titles such as Vogue, as ‘the most influential makeup artist in the world’ and ‘mother of makeup’, McGrath launched her eponymous label in 2o15. Thanks to decades of experience creating beauty magic backstage for fashion’s biggest houses, ‘Pat McGrath Labs‘ was born, existing as a culmination of high-performance cosmetics and loads of fun.
The most iconic products from her line include her Sublime Perfecting Base Range, LUST Lip Gloss and her offering of close-to-godliness calibre eyeshadow palettes.
Below you’ll find a curation of Pat McGrath Lab goodies that were used to create those iconic Maison Margiela Artisanal SS24 Glass Skin looks that blew up all of our feeds at the most recent Haute Couture fashion week.
