Brand Spotlight: Anine Bing
Where Danish design sensibilities meet Californian cool, this is Anine Bing. How Anine Bing reinvented vintage cool from her garage in Silver Lake.
Inspired by the fusion of Scandinavian simplicity and heritage American spirit, Anine Bing has been bringing us cool-girl clothing since the mid-2010’s.
Originally hailing from Denmark, a model by trade turned influencer, it seems like Anine was simply destined to build a brand that superseded all expectations from the get-go.
Founding the namesake label 6 years ago now with the help of her husband, Bing’s inspiration came from a need to bridge the gap between vintage and luxury.
A family affair still to this day, the creative collaboration between Bing and her husband is very reminiscent of the fellow Scandinavian brand, GANNI.
Fuelled by their mission to provide women of the world with wardrobe essentials, the Danish duo actually started off with very humble beginnings operating the business from their home garage in Silverlake, CA.
Since then, Bing’s expert use of Instagram paired with a particular knack for vintage shopping has had a pronounced effect on the way the brand presents itself today.
Inspired by thrift items and the luxury staples that we all strive for, Bing skilfully combines timelessness and rebellion through the use of thoughtfully sourced fabrications and materials, including leather, silk, linen, cashmere, and 14k gold.
If you own a piece of Anine Bing, chances are you own one of her vintage band tees. Inspired by the classic T-shirts popularised back in the 1970’s, these retro-inspired oversized pieces have become her bread and butter.
While casual elegance is all but effortless for the brand, luxury staples are exceptionally represented as well. An impressive mix of everyday wardrobe staples and investment pieces is what makes Anine Bing, the Anine Bing we have come to love.
With a dozen vertical retail spaces sprinkled across the fashion capitals of the world, an impressive list of stockists, and a killer digital community to boot, it’s clear Anine Bing will continue to be part of the fashion climate for years to come.
