Brand Spotlight: Adidas Originals
Because sometimes being an original is better.
Adidas has always been a good ol’ faithful, and there is no denying its popularity when you consider just how recognisable its trefoil logo and trademark three stripes are.
The brand has been enriched in people’s lives for so long that it even created a subdivision known as Adidas Originals; a label dedicated to lifestyle, fashion, and heritage products.
The German superstar brand was founded by Adolf “Adi” Dassler in 1949. While he technically started out under a different company name, with his brother, a long-lasting feud between the two led them to create rivalry brands.
Upon finding Adidas, he continued on to global success, hanging tight to his mission of providing athletes with the best possible equipment right up until his passing in 1978.
The brand’s logo started out with three stripes, before being incorporated into the iconic trefoil, which is now a staple on Adidas Originals products.
Despite its rich history, it is clear to see why Adidas Originals is currently trending and having its moment in the sun – and in a big way thanks to the cultural phenomenon that is the classic Adidas Samba OG sneaker.
The Samba was the brand’s first football (ie. soccer) sneaker, but as time went on and the shoe, and sport evolved, it remains a timeless classic out of the arena.
If one of the renowned shoes is not what you are after, then we suggest cosying up in a pair of classic 3-stripe track pants, a royal blue sweatshirt, or the logo-striped rugby polo instead.
