History

Founded in the Italian city of Turin in 1911, by Walter Martiny, Superga has a long history of classical footwear design.

From its founding days, the iconic brand rapidly emerged as a household name with its signature style, the Classic Superga 2750 heritage tennis shoes.

While Superga has diversified its range, the 2750 model continues to be a crowd favourite. Known as ‘the people’s shoe’ of Italy, the iconic 2750, with its simple yet versatile design, remains a staple in many a wardrobe today.

From Kate Middleton to Alexa Chung, the 2750s are a fashion girl’s shoe of choice.

Whether you’re looking to dress down a tea dress or to pop them on for a stroll through the park, Superga’s history-rich tennis shoes are the perfect pairing for any outfit.

Sustainability

Simplicity in design is the cornerstone of the Superga brand, allowing it to endure over time.

Taking the same simple approach to sustainability, Superga has recreated some of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes using sustainable alternatives in its latest endeavour, The Organic Cotton Collection, a significant step toward circularity for the Superga brand.

Longevity and durability are at the forefront of the collection. Each pair is 100 per cent vegan and consists of 60% organic cotton sourced from Vietnam and 40% natural hemp, while a light, durable and hypoallergenic natural cork layer makes up the inner sole.

As for the shoes classic vulcanised rubber sole, within the organic collection, the soles are made from 50% recycled rubber sourced naturally from rubber tree forests in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.

The Collection

The Organic Cotton Collection includes four Superga Icons, the classic 2750, 2790 with the addition of a stylish black rim, the more contemporary tennis shoe style of the 2843 and the modern platform style of 2490. All four designs come in a single natural canvas colourway, adding to the organic feel.

This gender-neutral collection is ideal for spring dressing. The natural tone of the sneakers makes them perfect for wearing with pastels or earthy hues alike as we begin to dress for sunnier days.

Making conscious and sustainable choices when it comes to what we wear is increasingly becoming the norm for many of us. So, if you’re keen to begin your journey toward sustainable dressing, or eager to try out some new kicks, starting from the bottom with timeless sneakers you’ll wear on repeat is the way to go.

No matter your style, the understated Organic Cotton Collection will undoubtedly become an essential piece in your wardrobe.
