Our Sneaker Picks for Spring

How to style this season’s sneakers.

We have well and truly sprung into spring, and with that comes an array of cool and contemporary sneakers. Whilst florals in spring may not be groundbreaking, we’re here to advise that vibrant colourways will never go out of spring fashion. With the weather unpredictable, let’s say sunny with a chance, spring is the time to carry extra layers – we’re talking jackets, shirts and relaxed blazers. Our style guide is a how to guide ensuring your putting your best foot forward for spring. You’re certainly wanting to get your hands on, in feet in, our selected spring sneakers.

The Low Dunks

If you’re into chunky and equally as funky, low-top shoes then these are a match made in streetwear, sneaker heaven.

Inspired by basketball sneakers, Nike x Off-White Dunk low sneakers are the most perfect footwear accessory for spring.

ASOS has a wide array of puffer vests in all different shades, shapes and unironically, puffiness. We’ve chosen ASOS’ Puffer Vest in Red which flawlessly complements the red rubber laces in the shoes. The vest is the perfect piece to transition from winter to spring and most importantly, adds a welcomed pop of colour.

To ensure the shoes remain in their spotlight, pair them with an understated oversized white t-shirt and a classic pair of chinos. We’ve elected Palm Angels’ White Rubberized Logo Shirt and Dsquared2’s Logo Plaque Starlight-leg Chinos.

Accessorise the spring sneaker kit with some silver jewellery. Tom Wood’s Satin Sterling Silver Cushion Ring is the perfect ring for everyday wear. Add the Silver Pendant Necklace for sparkle all over.

Clockwise Left to Right:

Dsquared2 Logo Plaque Straight-leg Chinos, $785, Farfetch
Tom Wood Satin Sterling Silver Cushion Ring, £270, Couverture & The Garbstore
Palm Angels White Rubberized Logo T-Shirt, $375, SSENSE
ASOS DESIGN Puffer Vest, $80, ASOS
Nike x Off-White Dunk Low Sneakers, $1,421, Farfetch
Tom Wood Silver Pendant Necklace, £201.67, Mr Porter

The Sustainable Kicks

Veja’s V-12 Leather Trainers are arguably the most stylish and sophisticated sneaker on the market. They come in a white colourway and finished with a red V on the side and blue detailing on the back. Most importantly, they act as the ideal base for adding vibrant spring colours.

We’ve paired them with Norse Projects’ Carsten Print Shirt in lichen green. It’s an oversized, boxy, short-sleeved shirt making it perfect for layering over your favourite casual tee.

It’s only fitting to wear some form of florals in Spring. Whilst we couldn’t bring ourselves to style a floral shirt with the sneakers, we’ve chosen a printed t-shirt with a humble sunflower on its façade, from Stüssy. It’s made from a soft cotton-jersey fabric.

Non’s Blue Wide Jeans are simply a must-have. They’re baggy, wide leg and the colour of the denim is to die for. They are bound to bring any sneaker, particularly Veja ones with red and blue detailing, to life.

Elwood Stamp Beanie, $24.99, The Iconic
STÜSSY Sunflower Printed Cotton-Jersey T-Shirt, £36.77, Mr Porter

The Modern Chucks

We’re back with another Off-White and sneaker collaboration. There’s clearly a trend of the streetwear specialists linking up with known and loved sneaker brands – it’s safe to say they are doing a superb job at it.

You are certainly wanting to get a hold of Converse’s Off-White Kim Jones Edition Chuck 70’s Utility Wave Hi Sneakers. They’ve got all the usual traits of Converse Chuck’s along with a shiny, transparent trim on either side, a platform rubber sole complete with a black stripe and a logo on the tongue.

These shoes are worth dressing up for, so we’ve styled them with a relaxed suit jacket and matching pants. Officine Générale’s Armie Pinstriped Wool-Flannel Suit Jacket is unstructured, slightly oversized, and incredibly luxe.

It’s especially luxe when paired with the matching Pierre Tapered Pleated Pinstriped Wool-Flannel Suit Trousers. They hold a bit more structure than the jacket whilst maintaining a relaxed and cool vibe.

Acne Studios Silver-Tone, Canvas, PVC, Acrylic and Leather Key Fob, £140, Mr Porter
Officine Générale Pierre Tapered Pleated Pinstriped Wool-Flannel Suit Trousers, £261.25, Mr Porter

The NB's With A Twist

One can confidently say that these sneakers scream spring! They feature a multiplicity of warm shades and hues that looks like an abstract painting of a sunset in the desert. New Balance’s x Concepts 57/40 “Headin’ Home” sneakers retail for $415.00 and they are worth every penny.

The shoes can be worn on any occasion, but we think they are best suited to a casual, off to a picnic, kind of look. Stone Island’s Logo Patch Cargo Shorts certainly align with the theme, they’re cut at knee-length, crafted from cotton and feature two practical side pockets.

We’ve paired them with Folk’s Classic Striped Slub Cotton-Jersey T-shirt in Mustard, to display our loyalty to the warm orange hues in the shoes. Oh and by the way – stripes are totally in trend this season.

Finish the look with a light jacket to take the outfit from day to nightwear. Everloom’s Ever Cord Work LS Shirt comes in four colourways and is the perfect layering option for unpredictable spring weather.
