Luxe
While our Luxe business shirt might look a little more flamboyant than your average office button down, a colourful dress shirt comes with an endless range of styling opportunities.
And when it comes to the oversized shirt trend, New York label The Frankie Shop is the uncontested king. While their jade green shirt is favoured by style icons like Kendall Jenner and Instagram influencer Emili Sindlev, we’ve decided to mix things up with a bold pink version.
A colourful shirt is a staple in any fashion savvy wardrobe right now, with its versatility meaning it can be styled to fit every occasion. From a casual tank, shorts and sneakers, to a sexy little black dress and strappy heels, the business shirt is at your service around the clock. For our Less look, We’ve opted for a refined pair of leather shorts and a white crop to complement the eclectic shirt, finishing off the modern look with a pair of padded Prada sandals.

Less
Despite it’s latest renaissance on the trend scene, the dress shirt has been present in fashion for centuries. Encouraged by Coco Chanel’s liberating designs of the 1920’s, the dress shirt became a strong marker of the androgynous fashion movement, which freed women of the gender confines of suffocating corsets and frilly skirts.
Our Less outfit takes inspiration from the dress shirt and long skirt combo, which was once a signal of women’s liberation, and has remained a timeless element in the fashion world ever since. This blue A.P.C shirt acts as the base for this look, which can be tied, left unbuttoned or tucked to create the desired look. Pair with a printed or patterned skirt of your choice, and add sneakers for a casual day look, or heels if you need a night time appropriate outfit.
The best thing about our Less outfit is that the pieces can be swapped out for anything you have in your wardrobe. Don’t have a blue dress shirt? Go for a white one. Don’t have a maxi skirt? Wear a mini! Regardless of the pieces you choose, you’re guaranteed to leave the house feeling confident, and look effortlessly stylish.

Low
An unquestioned staple, the lightweight and breathable nature of a dress shirt makes it compatible with every season’s style and trends. Use it as a layering piece in winter, or when the weather warms up, wear it as a lightweight safety layer (just in case the wind picks up!)
For our Low outfit, we’re dreaming of a summer by the sea, with silky wide leg pants from Nasty Gal. Complement them with a simple black business shirt, and secure only the middle buttons to cinch the waist and give your decolletage some sun.
Trendy thong sandals and fine chain jewellery are a must for this look, but you can also choose to dress it up with heels and a red lip for a leisurely night look. Just remember to give your business shirt a wash before work come Monday!
