Luxe to Less: Recreating 3 of our Fave PFW Looks

We’re looking back at the Paris Fashion Week that was to reminisce and recreate 3 of our favourite streetstyle looks.

Whether you’re in the know or not, another Paris Couture Week just wrapped in the city of lights, and just as every other week, global fashionistas flocked to the capital to serve us their best looks. We’ve handpicked 3 of our favourite streetstyle looks and recreated the with items from the high, to the low.

Luxe

I couldn’t help but choose this impeccable streetstyle look as it encompasses Parisian chic and puts a modern spin on an Audrey Hepburn-esque vibe. It’s a balanced example of feminine and cool and to be frank, we’re obsessed with the entire ensemble!

Due to many of these pieces being quite evidently purchased from luxury brands, we thought the look belonged in our ‘Luxe’ category. When recreating such a chic and timeless look, investing into high-end pieces makes much more sense than the alternative, ‘trending’ styles.

We managed to find the exact match of sunglasses, which are these classic and dainty shades from Celine. The ‘Bold Story’ is a style from their core collection and so should remain relevant for years and years to come.

This translucent tulle skirt from Maison Margiela is almost a dead-ringer to the one featured on our Parisian princess. It’s high waisted silhouette and exceptionally sheer look make it just as modern as it is ballerina-like.

For the feet, we couldn’t help but suggest the trending Miu-Miu ballet slippers in white. These child-like flats are eponymous to the brand and will continue to be relevant due to their iconic following. A great investment for those considering a pair of ballerinas!

Less

Our second standout look from the streets of couture week is one that embraces colour and texture. The epitome of trans seasonal dressing, we love a chunky knitwear moment, and when paired with an oversized pair of denim it’s simply, *chefs kiss*. Who said fashion week looks have to be dressed up? Exactly.

While the original Loewe Chunky Minty Green knit is actually current and still available to purchase through retailers such as NET-A-PORTER and Matches Fashion, it’s premium price tag didn’t quite slot perfectly into our ‘Less’ category in this write up. Instead, we’ve included two other options which fit the accessibility brief, better.

This sweater from the Elder Statesman is a great colour and texture match and is available for just a fraction of the price thanks to the Matches end of season sale. We also love this new season knit from Ganni which is funky and fresh and would work so well with the other elements in the look.

For the baggy, beyond boyfriend style jeans, we have found a fantastic iteration at a great price thanks to The Iconic. The Dr Denim Donna Jean is modern, effortlessly cool and almost the exact same wash as the original pair spotted on the streets of Paris.

Low

To balance out our 3 streetstyle looks for the PFW wrap up, we thought it necessary to include something on the edgier side. This look beautifully fuses vintage elements, grungy silhouettes all with a sprinkling of futuristic chrome. Think of it as Zoe Kravitz meets a SSENSE whacky shoot. We’re big fans of this look.

To kick it all off, we must start putting the ensemble puzzle together by nailing a replica of this mid-brown leather blazer/coat. This very reasonably priced option from ASOS brand Stradivarius looks like it’ll do the trick!

Next up? These epic snakeskin knee high boots. While this particular style of book is absolutely trending at the moment (both in the north and southern hemispheres) which means options to match are plentiful, we love this iteration from Freelance Shoes is perfect, and not just for the price point.

To accessorise, both these chrome wrap sunglasses from ASOS and the sparkly chainmail handbag from Ravella add the futuristic feel coming through the original look from the streets of Fashion Week. Top it all off with these oversized silver hoops from our friends at The Iconic and there is no doubt that we’ve nailed this look for ‘Low’.
