Get the Ultimate Summer Glow in Winter

Glow up with these makeup products; the perfect thing for hydrated and highlighted skin throughout the cooler months.

It’s no secret that winter weather compromises radiant, glowing skin. Hot showers, cold temperatures and artificial heating all do their part in stripping moisture from the face, leaving the skin feeling dull and dry. Yet makeup makes it possible to mimic sun kissed skin, minus the sun damage. It’s a luminous, less-is-more type makeup look; think dewy skin, rosy cheeks and illuminous cheekbones. The team at Monde have found the best makeup products to achieve a summer glow all year round.

Tinted Moisturiser

A tinted moisturizer is the perfect base for creating a dewy, sun kissed makeup look. Most tinted moisturizers have minimal coverage yet add a hint of colour whilst hydrating and nourishing the skin.

We love this staple makeup product because it’s buildable, meaning you can add more layers for more coverage, whilst remaining breathability.

Charlotte Tilbury’s unisex tinted moisturizer creates a natural, radiant glow on the skin with its lightly tinted, streak free formula. 3LAB’s perfect BB Tinted moisturizer is another favourite, offering a sun kissed glow while also ensuring protection from the sun with an SPF40 formula.

If you’re after something with a splash more coverage, Laura Mercier’s Oil-Free tinted moisturiser is a cult-favourite! It’s shine-free, easy to blend, incredibly hydrating and comes in 20 shades.

If you are keen to cover any spots or blemishes, use a high coverage concealer over the top of a tinted moisturizer. Make sure to set any oily or problem areas of the face with a translucent powder.

Bronzer

A cream bronzer is the best way to achieve a natural, sun kissed makeup look.

Because of the soft texture, cream bronzers mimic a skin like finish and almost always promise a streak-free look. Apply liberally to the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, upper eyelids, forehead and temples.

When looking for cream bronzer’s we simply cannot go past Clinique’s chubby stick; it is the crème de la crème or holy grail of cream bronzers.

The stick design makes it easy to simply ‘draw on’ a suntan. The chubby stick blends like a dream, whilst promising longevity. Fenty Beauty’s Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer comes in a convenient pan. It is sheer yet buildable and is available in seven shades, suitable for every skin type.

If you are after a soft-matt finish we love Nars’ Sun Kissed Bronzing Cream for silky, cream to powder finish. Napoleon Perdis’s Cheek Switch Crème Contour stick offers a wide array of colours in their lightweight and long wearing cream bronzer.

Blush

If you’re wanting to emanate a glow from within, natural looking flushed cheeks look a cream blush is a must-have!

Much like cream bronzer, cream blush is the perfect product to create healthy, hydrated and of course, glowing skin. Because of the liquid consistency cream blush is easy to blend into other makeup products.

Apply to the apples of the cheek, warm with fingers tips and blend upwards towards the cheekbones for a sun kissed, just got back from the tropics type look.

Kjaer Weis’ cream blush comes in an enticing rose hue which complements all skin types. Made from organic Rose Rubiginosa seed and Jojoba oil, the blush has a sheer and luminous finish – guaranteeing glowing, rosy cheeks. For a more pigmented pop of pink opt for Illamasqua’s cream blusher, which has a thicker and more buildable consistency.

What makes a cream blush so attractive is that it can be applied to the lips for a subtle hint of colour.

Highlighter

If you are wanting to achieve glowing skin in winter, one must not skip the step of highlighter.

Highlighter is quite literally a light-reflecting product. When placed on the highest points of the face, it makes the areas more prominent and pronounced.

Ultimately, it makes the face look fresh, youthful and creates a glow from within. Place on the cheekbones, cupid’s bow, brow bone and on the tip of the nose.

Hourglass’ Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette offers three highlighting powders in a golden beige, opalescent pearl and shimmering champagne. Each has a soft-focus finish and despite being a powder has a fine, velvety feel. We love Stila’s highlighter in the shade Bronzed which promises a radiant, luminous finish.

If precision when applying highlighter is of utmost importance, Benefit Cosmetic’s High Beam Liquid Highlighter will do just the trick. The doe foot (lip gloss like) applicator makes for easy application and the thin consistency blends seamlessly whilst radiating a pearlescent pink shine.
