Try out this season’s viral moment for yourself, as inspired by the trendsetting collection from Miu Miu.
Over the past couple of years in international fashion, there hasn’t been a viral moment quite like Miu Miu’s micro mini skirt. Debuting in their Spring/Summer 2022 campaign, the mini resembles a pair of bluntly cut cargo pants, sitting low on the waist, and covering only the tops of the thighs. Designed by Miuccia Prada herself, the aim was to capture the free spirit and youthful essence of the brand through a series of experimental cuts and silhouettes. Although many fashion lovers hold the belief that the look isn’t for everyone, we’re here to bust that myth and show you just how easy it can be.

School Vibes
The star of the show, Miu Miu’s now-iconic trouser cut off mini skirt, is front and centre in this look – as it should be.
We saw it on famous faces galore, from Nicole Kidman to Hailey Bieber, the micro was and very much still is the moment.
Riding the wave of the resurgence of Y2K style, Miu Miu’s micro-mini and much of the remainder of the collection fits the bill of elevated 2000s appeal.
Held up with a classic brown belt with a chunky buckle, the style taps into the slightly undone feel of early 2000s street fashion. Think Paris Hilton mixed with the classic appeal of a Burberry design.
As is expected from a high-end collection, the look incorporated the highest of quality fabrications, where the raw finishes found along the hemlines perfectly contrast against the rich leathers and sleek gold components.
If investing in this micro trend is a little out of budget or reach, try out Lioness’ The Craft Mini Skirt for size and you’ll find it gives off a very similar look.
Pair it with MVN’s La Luna Crop Shirt and Ganni’s Buckled Flatform loafers to complete the school-girl inspired chic look. Both comfy and cute, this trio of garments will have everyone asking – “is that the new Miu Miu?”

All Over Leather
Sleek above all, you can never go wrong with an all-leather look. Miucca knows that for certain.
For Miu Miu’s take on the classic Matrix look, hemlines are high, the edges are kept raw and the buttery leathers are mixed in sheen and shades.
Touches of gold throughout add an air of elegance, and the casual grey shirt and socks take the look from uber futuristic, to slightly more preppy.
