Eye Make-Up Trends Direct From the Runway
The eyes have it.
Gone are the days of a basic smokey eye. This seasons eye make-up looks are about glossy texture, bold liner and mixed metals. Think all things coloured and textured, separately or even all at once. The message this season is simple: there are no rules.
Words By Caitlyn Batterham
The Hot Gloss
There is nothing sexier for day or night than a glossy lid. Dust your lids with a little concealer to create a blank canvas, then swipe your desired coloured shadow on top, making sure the powder is completely set before moving onto the gloss. Press any transparent gloss on top of the eye shadow, wait for it to dry slightly, and you’ll be instantly glistening.

Not-So-Heavy Metals
Metallics are no longer the domain of 90’s throwback looks. This season, chunky shimmer can be used as a liner for a subtle look, or all over the lids in any mix of tones for a dramatic take on the trend. In regards to colours – those with a darker skin tone stick to rich, deeply toned golds and bronzes, while fairer complexions will pop with rose gold and silvers shadows.

All Things Glitter
Go bold or go home with the glitter trend. Try a bright shimmery liner on the edge your eyes, or use a multitude of hyper-pigmented shadows to try out the glittery look. Reach for shadows that have creamy bases for maximum staying power, and keep the rest of your face muted so your eyes can grab the light and take centre stage. Extra tip – use primer so the glitter stays on all night long.

Toeing The Line-r
If you’re getting tired of the classic black cat eye, step up your eye game this season by adding some bright colour into your liner rotation. Go for a bold stripe of colour, think pinks, oranges and greens this season, across the eyes for a statement take on this trend, with pared back brows and lips so the liner’s front and centre. Reach for a liquid liner in a bright or contrasting colour to swipe around the lash line to finish off any makeup look.
