Jess Alizzi’s Valentine’s Day Edit
For elevated pieces and romantic essentials, creator Jess Alizzi has gathered together her favourite Valentine's Day picks - perfect for however you chose to celebrate.
I love how in recent years Valentine’s Day is less about receiving cliché gifts from your lover/crush/tinder-date – and more so about spending time with your nearest and dearest. Whether you are in an intimate relationship, a ‘situationship’ or riding solo this year, there are so many ways you can make the day feel a little bit special. With the help of Shop Monde, I am coming to you with a highly curated but diverse list that will hopefully inspire you, whatever your plans may be!
Often my partner and I will spend Valentine’s Day at one of our favourite wine bars in Melbourne and for this – I love to add a touch of pink/red to my most minimal looks. I’ll pair back some simple trousers or jeans with a red/pink top, scarf or bag and make sure I am wearing comfortable shoes so that I am ready for a stroll down Lygon St after-dinner gelati.
If you are thinking a picnic may be on the cards, you can’t go wrong with a summery dress, sandals, bucket hat and cute glassware or if you are keeping things low-key this year – why not spice up your environment with some new cushions, candles, and luxe PJs. This would be particularly fun for a Galentine’s Day style night too! And if you’re thinking about treating your special someone (…and rest assured, that special someone can most definitely just be yourself), gold jewellery is always my pick – you really can’t go wrong with anything from Mejuri.
