COMMAS at AAFW 2021

This morning Men’s resort wear label COMMAS graced shores with their latest collection.

Day 2 of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week started off with not a bang, but the gentle sound of waves caressing a Sydney shoreline. That’s right, this morning at 7.30am, the COMMAS presentation took us to the beach.

As the sun was rising, the Sydney-based resort and swimwear brand brought Australian Fashion’s elite to Tamarama beach. Their gift to onlookers, a moment of tranquil pause amongst a sea of chaos, shows and press.

The brand, conceptualised on the notion of taking a pause, or ‘comma’, presented a collection that exuded simplistic calm; a poetic performance of beachwear that transcends summer.

The collection itself stands as a generous offering of modern men’s separates, designed to be enjoyed by the beach. Quintessentially Sydney, a mix of shorts, kaftan-esque shirts and swim are all on offer.

Reining true to the brand’s DNA, the fabrics on show this morning were crisp, luxurious and relaxed – linens in classic stripes, thoughtful hues of jersey and high-quality recycled polyester for swim trunks.

Subtle Moroccan accents were featured in details such as mandarin collars and wooden buttons and, a personal favourite of mine, the printed bowler shirts are back in artistic and colourful prints.

We encourage you to check out this morning’s purposeful and considered runway, featuring beauty from our friends over at Hunter Lab, or shop COMMAS current menswear collection below.
