Crafting beautiful pieces for the home, the body and the life, Saardé’s collection is considered, textural and pared-back above all.

Inspired by the rich artisan culture of Istanbul, the hometown of one half of the founding duo Shenol and Verity Kizek. After spending a considerate amount of time there together, the pair felt compelled to reimagine this inspired approach to design here in Australia.

In admiration of traditional Turkish textiles, hand-crafted pieces and the comforting warm climate, the very first seeds for the brand began in their lived research of traditional design techniques well before they hit Aussie soil.

Over many years that saw countless changes to the look and feel of the brand, Saardé as it currently exists was born, released to the public and embraced by many globally.

A labour of love, the Kizek’s passion for creating thoughtful homewares and artisan-made pieces is made clear through the current collections.

Keeping to the roots of the brand, the pair continues to this day to develop and design their collections alongside small producers from the likes of Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and India. This is just one of the many ways Saardé stands out from the pack as a leader in recontextualising traditional design for the modern consumer.

“We try to bring a sense of beautiful, natural calm to everything we do,” said co-founder Verity Kizek. “We are particularly inspired by pared-back, earthy Mediterranean spaces that use natural materials and artisan craftsmanship.”

With sustainability in mind, the pair create small batches of products to reduce waste and ensure the highest of quality. As a result of this slow and considered process, each Saardé piece is uniquely textured and formed, showcasing the artistry that goes into producing it.

Washed with muted hues and highlighting premium craftmanship within the fabrications, Saardé’s curated collection spans across beautiful homewares, bathroom and bedroom essentials to its signature liquid olive oil soap.

Beyond its traditional roots, the brand also finds inspiration for their core range from natural spaces like olive groves, azure waters, salty skin and the pristine beauty of sunset feasts.
