Brand Spotlight: Bed Threads

Seven years ago, when Bed Threads founders Genevieve and Alan moved into a new apartment, they found themselves yearning for quality bed linen.

“It had to be high-quality, simple to wash, easy on the environment, affordable and beautiful.” And thus, the foundation of Bed Threads was born.

Launching in 2017, their initial product – a humble set of bed linen consisting of two pillowcases, a duvet cover, and a fitted sheet – sold out in three weeks.

Since then, their offering has expanded to include an array of bed linen in 19 different colours, each as lush as the next. Their ultra-comfortable sleepwear and loungewear utilise the same stylistic principles as their bed linen, sacrificing nothing in the quest for minimalism and perfection.

Their finely curated collection of homewares includes ceramics, prints, novels and coffee table books, glassware and home décor. You can find treasures from Bitossi Home, Anna Karlin, Formantics, and Dinosaur Designs, as well as artwork collaborations with the likes of  Maggie Stephenson and Claudia Miranda.

The products on offer at Bed Threads are undoubtedly beautiful; simple and sophisticated with an air of quiet confidence. What may be less evident from the surface is their environmentally friendly disposition.

All the pieces at Bed Threads are OEKO-TEX 100 Certified by OEKO-TEX, the Zurich-based International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile and Leather Ecology. This certification means their pieces are free from harmful substances and have been declared safe for human use.

Bed Threads is 100% carbon neutral – measuring, reducing, and offsetting their greenhouse gas emissions – and their packaging is plastic-free, in a bid to do their bit for the environment.
