Celebrate Film and Fashion From Home

Recreate the best of the Cannes 74th Film Festival Red Carpet looks.

Whilst the Cannes Film Festival typically honours cinema, the luxe red-carpet attire cannot be overlooked. Stars from across the globe made a very fashionable return, after the yearlong covid induced hiatus. This year’s fashion proved that vibrant, bold and bright colours are bang on trend and definitely here to stay. We have selected our favourite fashion attire from this year’s film festival so you can shop the look!

Words By Ellen Madden

Bella in Schiaparelli

Supermodel Bella Hadid took to the red carpet in a sultry low-cut black gown. The neckline scooped to the supermodel’s upper ribs, allowing room for a showstopping gilded brass necklace that resembled lungs.

The outfit was created by Schiaparelli for their recent Haute Couture Fall 2021 collection.

The long sleeve maxi dress was teamed with a pair ankle strap pumps, sporting a diamanté strap across the toes.

We love the look of a deep scoop neck on a formfitting, long sleeve midi dress. Annie Bing’s Montana Dress sits well below the décolletage, providing just the right amount of skin if you have streetwear chic in mind.

Made from a ribbed nylon-spandex fabric the dress is sure to hug your body whilst maintaining its shape.

We thought it more shoppable to suggest some chunky, gold necklaces but if a lung shaped ensemble is your thing than be our guest.

Reliquia Jewellery are known for their high quality yet affordable pieces, inspired by family heirlooms.

If you have luxe in mind Paco Rabanne’s Eight Nana necklace will do the trick, made from gold plated aluminium.

Spike in Louis

It’s safe to say Spike Lee made quite the entrance on day one of Cannes Film Festival.

He wore a custom Louis Vuitton hot pink suit with matching holographic sunglasses, high-top sneakers and a black fedora.

The boxy double-breasted blazer sat just below the waist of the tailored suit pants, with a crisp button up white shirt accompanying the set.

As if the kit couldn’t be any cooler, Lee donned a pair of custom Nike Air Jordan Sneakers, crafted by Nike’s design vice president, Tinker Hatfield.

De La Vali have created the most glamourous yet striking suit from soft Tencel and linen, in a feminine blush pink.

We love the oversized fit juxtaposed against the neat tailoring and exaggerated collar. To embrace your inner Spike Lee pair the blazer with the matching wide leg trousers.

Add a funky pair of sneakers with any type of trousers for an effortless and modern look.

Jessica in Chopard

We are drooling over the emerald, green maxi Valentino dress worn by Jessica Chastain at the Chopard Trophy Dinner.

Chastain channelled vintage Hollywood glamour in the floor length gown, featuring a plunge neckline and cut outs below the bust.

The actress paired the green frock with a pair of chunky purple earrings.

If you want to pay homage to the Chastain’s Valentino number; Zimmerman’s Teddy Terry Bandeau Midi Dress will do just that.

The dress is made from a cotton-blend, featuring spaghetti straps and a bow bandeau top, all in an A-line cut finishing at the shin.

Any deep, dark and vivid shade of green is completely on trend this season. We absolutely adore Molly Goddard’s Green Morgan Skirt in an A-line cut with a lettuce edge trim at the hem.

Couple the glamourous skirt with the Pink Knit Zola Set, for a feminine and fun look.

Poppy in Dolce

Poppy Delavigne wowed the crowd in a canary yellow ballgown on day nine.

The intricate gown was custom made by Dolce and Gabbana from silk chiffon featuring a tight bodice, slight sheerness around the legs and a halter neckline sweeping into a criss-cross back.

Delevingne did not shy away from bold colours, contrasting the yellow dress with a pair of aqua blue drop earrings.

To channel the vibrant yellow dress, we love Zimmerman’s Shelly halter-bow midi dress. With an open back, halter tight and tight bodice the dress is as elegant as it is daring.

Norma Kamalli’s slip midi dress offers a subtle alternative to the red-carpet attire.

The dress is simple in design with a low V plunge neckline, spaghetti straps and a flowy skirt, all in a bright yellow velvet fabric.

Add a pair of statement blue earrings or strappy heels to complete the look.

Tilda in Haider

Actress Tilda Swinton made quite the appearance in a deconstructed cool blue power suit.

The two-piece was made by Haider Ackerman, which perfectly accentuated Swinton’s hourglass figure through the wide, exaggerated shoulders and immaculately tailored cigarette pants.

The look was completed with a pair of sleek grey pumps.

You can recreate Swinton’s look with Danielle Guizio’s blue linen suit.

The blazer sports ruched symmetrical cut outs at the waist, a notched lapel collar and a hidden button closure down the font.

The matching classic wide-leg trousers strike the perfect balance of neat tailoring and luxe comfort.

If you’re after something more subtle, Dazie’s Dilemma Blazer is the perfect outerwear piece to elevate any outfit.

Pair with wide leg jeans, silk skirts or even Patrizia Pepe’s checked cigarette pants for a completely blue hued look.
