Bendon Brand

In 1947, former naval officer Ray Hurley and his brother Des, a pattern cutter, founded ‘Bendon’, a women’s underwear company that aimed to go beyond the limited colours and uncomfortable cuts that made up the undergarment market of the time. A literal description of the way the underwear fitted, ‘Bendon’ is possibly best known for its collaboration in 1990 with The Body, Elle Macpherson in 1990 with the launch of ‘Elle Macpherson Intimates’ followed by the launch of Heidi Klum Intimates in 2015. This lauch can be pinpointed as pivotal moments for the brand, redefining lingerie and placing it in the fashion – rather than just the intimate apparel – arena. Today, Bendon reigns as a world leader in intimate apparel with brands distributed through 4,000 doors in 34 countries worldwide. The New Zealand company continues to distribute some of the most loved labels including Bendon, Lovable, Heidi Klum Intimates, Pleasure State, Stella McCartney Lingerie, Fayreform, Davenport, Pleasure State and more.
