Words By Alexandra Schischov

Staple Sneakers

Can Victoria Beckham do no wrong? From fashion to beauty, VB is seriously having her moment in the fashion sun. So, when she collaborated with activewear brand Reebok, I couldn’t help but notice. These cool but sporty sneakers tick all the fashion boxes and will look good with pretty much anything.

Reebok by Victoria Beckham White & Beige VB Club C Sneakers, now $197 were $270 – SSENSE

Everyday Bag

I’ve been coveting the Marni Trunk bag for some time now, as it’s the perfect style to wear as a shoulder bag or a cross-body bag. The versatility doesn’t end there though. In a smooth off-white shade, it’s smart enough to be worn as a work bag, but versatile enough as a casual throw on piece. With plenty of space for all my stuff, this bag is high on my list of must-haves.

Marni Off-White Saffiano Medium Trunk Bag, now $1819 was $2140 – SSENSE

Home Decor

While I love having fragrant candles burning around the house (and the office for that matter), sometimes a taller tapered candle housed in a cool candle holder  is what is needed to create a more styled and considered space. I love everything about Danish brand applicate, from their locally Scandinavian made homewares their simple but chic aesthetic. This candle holder is no exception.

Applicata Pink Lily Candle Holder, now $33 was $100 – SSENSE

Meditation Cushion

After one of the busiest and most stressful work years in memory, I’ve concluded that the only way I’m going to survive the pace in start-up world is by doing some serious self-care, with meditation being the first step on that journey. You could argue that you don’t really need a special cushion to sit on while meditating, but I think it’s the perfect piece to use as a dedicated meditation tool, to make this time extra special each day.

Project Full Off-White Natural Canvas Meditation Cushion Set, now $338 was $375 – SSENSE

Yoga Mat

The self-care focus continues with a renewed love for yoga, helping me with my breathing, strength and flexibility. It’s been a long time, but it feels great. And who wouldn’t want to do it in minimalistic style with this very cool Jil Sander yoga mat. Despite being a tad on the expensive side, the sale price may be enough to get me over the line.

Jil Sander Beige Yoga Mat, now $429 was $520 – SSENSE

Resistance Bands

This set of resistance bands will be a fantastic addition to my workout routine, consisting of three bands – light, medium and heavy, perfect for travelling or working out at home. Each band extends to a full body size, making them perfect for a wide range of strengthening exercises for the whole body.

B.Yoga Multicolor ‘The Body Bands’ Resistance Band Set. now $41 were $55 – SSENSE

Beach Hat

Who doesn’t love Jacquemus, France’s newest darling? This summer bucket hat, with the brand signature embroidered on the front is a great balance between fashion and function. Cute to look at but with a wide enough brim to provide a good level of sun protection, this hat couldn’t be more perfect.

Jacquemus Tan Le Papier ‘Le Bob Pescadou’ Beach Hat, now $140 was $195 – SSENSE

Cover-Up

While hotel towels do the trick while on vacation, nothing beats covering up in style with a sarong, or better still a kaftan, when sunning yourself by the pool, or the ocean. This Dries Van Noten cover-up is my perfect poolside accompaniment while on vacation. Better still, it can be dressed up post-water activities and be worn out to dinner afterwards. All I am missing is the cocktail.

Dries Van Noten Blue Cotton Cover-Up Dress, now $480 was $600 – SSENSE

Winter Scarf

Scandi-brand Acne Studios has cemented itself as one of the coolest brands on earth, so when you can sore one of their signature branded scarves at a fraction of the price, you’ve got to get in quick. This will be another one of those winter wardrobe basics that I am compelled to buy now.

Acne Studios Brown & Orange Tartan Scarf, now $623 was $760 – SSENSE

Sleepwear

If you are going to wear pyjamas, they might as well go all out and get some a cool Scandi brand like Stine Goya. I’m in love with these 100% cotton poplin pyjamas with a stripe pattern of pink, white, blue, and shades of brown.

Stine Goya Pink & Brown Striped Sada Pyjama Set, now $148 was $390 – SSENSE

Hair Accessories

After having lived through the initial scrunchie trend and now the renaissance, I cannot believe I had such disdain in between for this simple, but amazing hair accessory. They are or so easy and versatile to wear, and better still, they don’t give you hair-tie head!

Maryam Nassir Zadeh Brown & Green Camellia Scunchie, now $83 was $110 – SSENSE

Jewels

I’m a massive fan of investment jewellery. It does not have to be super expensive, but it does have to be good quality and a timeless design that will last. Sophie Buhai does the most beautiful pieces, using recycled metals, often using semi-precious stones. These earrings combine freshwater pearls, recycled gold and jade to create style that is heirloom quality with a modern sensibility.

Sophie Buhai Green & White Audrey Earrings, now $841 was $1255 – SSENSE

Big Bag

Proenza Schouler is one of my favourite American brands. The talented design duo creates effortless and modern designs, but it wasn’t until they launched their handbag line in 2008 that things really took off. Without fail, every bag they design is just as covetable as it is unique. This one in my favourite colour is divine and will be worn with love.

Proenza Schouler Khaki Ruched Tote, now $876 was $1825 – SSENSE

Tech Accessories

A Bottega Veneta case to house my Airpods may come across a little bit extra, but I figure it’s about as close as I’m going to get at this point to owning a bag, so ill take it. Finished in a sage green silicone, this case is going provide me with a whole lot of style, coupled with just as much substance.

Bottega Veneta Green Intreccio AirPods Pro Case, now $296 was $370 – SSENSE

Makeup

I have been a big fan of clean beauty brand Vapour Beauty, so I was saddened to learn that the founders will be closing the business at the end of 2022. Their eyeshadow palettes have always included a fantastic selection of colours, so I am stocking up on what I can before it’s too late.

Vapour Beauty Eyeshadow Quad Palette – Archetype, now $41 was $60 – SSENSE

Bath Towels

Baina has a special place in my heart. The Melbourne-born homewares brand, specialising in organic bath and pool towels, is cool beyond compare. Although the chequerboard design is their signature, they’ve ventured out to create stylish designs in co-ordinating stripes so you can mix and match your collections.

Baina SSENSE Exclusive Green & Off-White Checkered Hand Towel, now $38 was $75 – SSENSE

Sunglasses

A chic pair of cat-eye sunglasses are guaranteed to last a lifetime, and Saint Laurent sure do know how to meld style and utility so seamlessly. The tortoiseshell frames are timeless, and the dark green lenses with 100% UVA/UVB protection are going to protect my eyes from the harsh Australian sun.

Saint Laurent Tortoiseshell SL 276 MICA Sunglasses, now $428 were $570

T-Shirt

When Fendi makes a cute but timeless white t-shirt, one can’t help but notice. Dressed up with leather pants, or worn casually with some leggings, this tee is absolutely going to be a wardrobe staple. 100% adding to cart.

Fendi White Mesh T-Shirt, now $374 was $890 – SSENSE

Socks

I’m not sure whether it’s just me, but I have a basket where I store all my lonely socks that are missing their partner, in the hope that they will surface one day. The question is, where do they go? That is why I am stocking up on some really good quality socks this sale season like these by French label A.M.I that stand out as belonging to me, so there is absolutely no chance that one of my family members mistakes them for theirs!

AMI by Alexandre Mattiussi Three-Pack Multicolor Ami de Cœur Socks, now $153 were $170 – SSENSE

Winter Hat

While winter might seem so far away from us at the moment, I’m always thinking about stocking up on stylish winter essentials, because the cooler weather will be here before we know it. Budapest-based fashion house Nanushka’s vegan leather bucket hat will be a welcome addition to my winter wardrobe, providing not only warmth, but also water resistance in the wet weather.

Nanushka Black Vegan Leather Cameron Bucket Hat, now $108 was $300 – SSENSE
